Course Descriptions & Enrollment

In your Student Control Panel, select "View Courses".

You will now be able to view any courses you are currently enrolled in and/or any courses you have completed. If this is your first time using the Legacy System, you will be informed that you are not currently enrolled in any courses and you have not yet completed any courses.

Select "Click Here To View A List Of Available Courses" to select from a list of Legacy Training courses.

Course Selection

A list of all available Legacy Training courses will now be displayed. Select the course of your choice by clicking on the course name.

A course description/EmployABILITY Terms of Service Agreement page will be displayed. Please read all information carefully and thoroughly to determine whether or not this is the correct course for you. Please read the EmployABILITY Terms of Service Agreement before continuing.

Choose "Accept" to complete your enrollment or "Decline" to return back to your enrollment/completion menu.

If you chose "Accept", then your enrollment (My Courses) page will now display the course(s) you have enrolled in. Select the course name to enter the e-classroom and to begin your training.

Entering the "E-Classroom"

After selecting the course name from the "My Courses" page, you will now be in
the "E-Classroom".

A "Course Information" table will appear containing a course title, description, and author(s) of each course.

In addition to the "Course Information" panel, you will be able to view the "Course Outline" table.

Course Outline Table

The course outline table is the "heart" of your Legacy E-leaning experience. This table provides detailed information about your current course, and allows you to monitor your progress under the "Status" heading. If you need to go back and review something you have already completed, you are welcome to do so.

On the Course Outline table, you will notice two different items displayed under the "Type" heading – these items are: "Content" and "Quiz". "Content" refers to all general course material including: text, images, interactive presentations, audio, etc. "Quiz" refers to the test provided at the end of each module chapter.

Under the heading "Status" three possible conditions will be displayed:

  • For a section of the course that has never been viewed, the "Status" will be displayed as "-".
  • If a course section has been started but not yet completed, the "Status" will be displayed as "In Progress"
  • If you have completed a course section, the "Status" will be displayed as "Complete".

To begin your course, simply choose the first item under the "Title" heading and selection "View/Take" under the "Actions" heading.

The Course: Steps to Successfully Completing Your Course

After clicking "View/Take", you will now be in the first section of the course. Read the material provided and follow the steps provided by your instructor.

At the bottom of this page will be a series of links to use for easy navigation through the course. You will be able to go to specific pages (useful for reviewing previously read sections) as well as the next page and next section of your course. You can also return to the "Course Outline" Table from here.

Upon completion of a course "Content" section you will usually be presented with a quiz (Legacy course structure may vary slightly).

Quizzes are done in an "open book" format. At any time during your quiz, you can refer back to a previous section to review any materials needed. To review any previously viewed materials, you can access this information by clicking any of the links under the heading, "Available Course Materials" located just to the left of the questions on the "Quiz" page.

To complete your quiz, read each question and select your answer from the items available. Upon completion of your quiz, select the button "Submit Answers" to continue. If your quiz score is 70% or better, then you will be able to continue on to the next course section. If your score is under 70%, then you will need to retake the quiz before continuing on to the next section. If necessary, you will be able to review the previous section before attempting the quiz again.

If you need to end your study session early while taking a quiz, simply select the button "Save" at the bottom of the quiz page. Your current answers will be saved and you may resume your quiz at a later time.

To enhance your learning experience, a full Legacy course will be made up of several content sections and quiz sections. After you have completed all sections of a course, you will be presented with a final exam utilizing the same "Quiz Section" format. Each final exam consists of questions which cover information from all sections of a course. When taking the final exam, you will be allowed to go back to review materials to refresh your memory about any subject.

We utilize this "open book" test approach as we feel it is effective, and reflects a "real life" situation. When you are performing your job on a day-to-day basis, you are not expected to remember every single piece of information about any subject – however, it is important for you to know what resources are available to you, where you can go to find an answer.

As with the individual Quiz sections, the final exam will require you to score a passing grade of 70% or better. If your score is below 70%, you will be allowed to retake the final exam. If you complete the exam with a passing grade, you will have completed the course successfully. An email will be sent to you with course completion instructions and you will be able to download an electronic certificate indicating successful completion of each LEGACY course.
