Disability etiquette starts with our language: the choice of words we use can reflect either a negative or positive attitude, and can unintentionally embarrass or even insult an individual or group.
While there are no hard and fast rules, there are certain guidelines to follow. The following is a list of acceptable terms and their acceptable application when used to discuss issues related to disabilities.
