Who We Are
The EmployABILITY Partnership is a collaboration of service professionals working together through the Los Angeles WorkSource California system to help people with disabilities find jobs and build careers, and also to assist the employers who hire them. Funded by the City of Los Angeles, Community Development Departments Workforce Development Division, the EmployABILITY Partnership has garnered the active support of major local and state government agencies including:
- City of Los Angeles, Department on Disability
- California Employment Development Department
- California Department of Rehabilitation
Many of the communitys leading disability service agencies also have joined forces through the EmployABILITY Partnership. Together, they work toward a common mission of creating career empowerment for persons with disabilities.

Our Programs...
The EmployABILITY Partnership has launched ground-breaking programs that work in concert to accomplish our mission of creating career empowerment for persons with disabilities:
Empowerment Team
A group of highly trained disability specialists support City of Los Angeles WorkSource staff by providing:
- Assistance in creating innovative service strategies
- Staff training and technical assistance on serving persons with disabilities
- Employer education and support
- Customer referrals to agencies offering specialized services
EmployABILITY Hotline
The free EmployABILITY Hotline provides disability-related information and resources to job seekers and employers. Hotline staff members provide information on available local resources and contacts. They also act as liaison for customers seeking services through the WorkSource system.

LEGACY Diversity Training
LEGACY is a ground-breaking training program created to equip WorkSource staff and other service providers with the skills needed to provide high quality workforce development services to persons with disabilities. LEGACY training includes:
- On-line modules via the Internet (available to WorkSource staff)
- Live training sessions led by disability experts
Through LEGACY, WorkSource staff can earn an industry-recognized certification as a Disability Services Specialist, by completing required on-line courses and demonstrating use of skills on the job. The live training segments of LEGACY are available FREE of charge to staff at any community-based and government agency who wish to strengthen their skills in providing employment services to persons with disabilities. EmployABILITY Network Website
The EmployABILITY Network (www.employ-ability.org) website provides information about job search strategies and job accommodations for persons with disabilities. The site is designed to address the specific needs of two important groups: employers, and WorkSource staff.

Employers can gain expert advice on best employment practices related to interviewing, hiring and accommodating persons with disabilities.
WorkSource Staff Support
WorkSource staff can access information on providing services to persons with disabilities, find links to disability resources, and participate in on-line training to enhance their professional skills.
